eBay Bushnell 5x20 Golf Scope Rangefinder Monocular 100520 NEW
Very lightweight and compact. Also very fast to use. No battery's to go dead and no waiting for warmup. They have this advertised as a "laser" range finder but it is not. It uses the old tryed and true "line" method, such as is seen in very high quality rifle scopes. I have found it to be very accurate out to 200 yds. You place the base line at the hooves of the animal and read the line that is at the top of the animals body..that gives the range. Slight adjustments must be made for differant animals, deer are shorter than elk. But one trip to the rifle range will make this very easy to do. I have found it to be much quicker to use than a laser type and it is not affected by rain and snow. Also I don't have to remove my gloves to use it. No battery's to worry about, it weighs almost nothing and fits in any pocket. If you want a range finder that really works well and is easy and fast to use this is the ticket. I bought 3 more for xmas gifts for my hunting partners. Can't recommend it high enough.
The design of this product is based around measuring the distance to a flagstick, so you won't be able to use this product to measure distances to any random object. It also will not measure distances less than 50 yards.
My unit did not come with any instructions, so here they are: Instructions: Within the golf scope is an etched rangefinder reticle. Once you have the base of the flag lined up to the bottom line of the reticle, simply determine distance to the flag by reading the numbers on the reticle that align with the top of the flagstick.

Leica Rangemaster CRF 1200 Scan Mode Rangefinder Monocular
Leica Rangemaster CRF 1200 Scan Mode Rangefinder Monocular tells you precisely how far away from the target, no matter what you set your sights on - the far end of a clearing, an extensive construction project or the green at the far end of the fairway. Bushnell Elite 1600 ARC 7x 26mm VDT Laser Rangefinder at amazon costs $447.
Bushnell 205110 Elite 1600 7x26 ARC Rangefinder NEW at eBay $468.
Customer reviews:
This is the Bushnell Elite 1600 ARC MONOCULAR range finder, not the FUSION binocs. I say this, because many people confuse the two.
This range finder works perfectly to 1600 yards without issue. I have not been able to get it to range past 1600 yards, so I wonder if it's software limited.
The primary difference between this unit and it's closest top-of-the-line competitor, the Leica 1600 Rangemester CRF is that this unit actually works and is 1/2 the price.
The glass on the Bushnell is not as nice and the Leica or the Swavorski LRF units.
However, Leica has a large number of 1600 units that don't actually work (range) properly, and the Swavorski, which better at ranging 2000 yard distances, does not have ANY of the fetured of this unit.
So, unless you NEED superior glass, as opposed to good glass, and you want to spend time and money looking for a working Leica unit, then this is the unit for you.
I'm not trilled that it's not made in Japan like the Fusion Binocs; it's made in China. However, it does tell you the angle you are shooting from, gives you an accurate distance to the target (I've compared ranging information to Google Earth), and has target, brush, and standard modes.
It works, and it's the only really great Bushnell option out there.
One note: According to Bushnell typical turn around on repair of one of these units is at least 4 weeks. However, all of the ELITE units are warrantied for life.
One advantage this unit has is that it uses a CR123a battery, as opposed to a CR2. So batteries can be found everywhere.
Recharible CR123 batteries are NOT an option for this unit.

Bushnell range finder
Bushnell built the first laser rangefinder for hunters in 1995 and since then have pioneered and perfected every major advancement in the category.
